These Telecom Brand Taglines Says It All
Net Neutrality means all the websites and apps should be treated as equal but telecom operators in India want to stop net neutrality. Telecom operators are saying that if particular website is earning more when our users open that website using our data plan then that website should also pay them else they will stop the access to that particular website. For example, WhatsApp recently announced WhatsApp Calling system and this calling system works on data plan, if you have 1 GB data then you can use all this data for calling facility. 1 GB data will cost you Rs 98 from telecom operators and you can talk for 1000 hours using this 1 GB internet data. Telecom companies are saying that they will be in huge loss because of this and they want this particular service to work slow or they want to take more money. If Net neutrality will fail in India then you might end up paying Rs 10,000 for using 1 GB WhatsApp. This is how telecom operators want to earn money from Indian users. This is totally wrong and violates basic principal of accessing internet. Telecom operators are doing this to earn more money and to get bigger.
